Mel Leipzig: Selected Works

Recent works by painter Mel Leipzig, curator of a concurrent exhibition on figuration at the State Museum, are featured. Mr. Leipzig studied art at The Cooper Union, Yale University and Pratt Institute. In 2007, Leipzig was elected to membership in the prestigious National Academy. Other awards include a Fulbright Traveling Fellowship, the Louis Comfort Tiffany Award, and one of the last individual artists grants from the National Endowment For the Arts (in 1995). He has exhibited in solo and groups show throughout the country. His work is in the collections of White House, Washington, DC; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Yale Art Gallery, New Haven, CT; Cooper-Hewitt Museum, New York; Montclair Art Museum, Montclair, NJ; and the New Jersey State Museum; among others.
