Press Releases

Michael W. Proscia of North Bergen has been appointed by Governor James E. McGreevy to become Chairman of the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission.

Proscia, a veteran of the film and television industry, has been affiliated with the International Alliance Of Theatrical Stage Employees (I.A.T.S.E.) for over 45 years. He previously served as General Secretary-Treasurer of the International, as well as Chairman of the East Coast Council and President and Business Representative for Local 52. He is currently Assistant to the President of the I.A.T.S.E.

A member of the Motion Picture and Television Commission since 1980, Proscia succeeds Gloria Monty (who served as Chairman since 1997), actress Celeste Holm, screenwriter and author JP Miller, and playwright Sidney Kingsley.

The Commission, which has been in operation since 1978, promotes motion picture and television production throughout New Jersey.

Last year, the agency attracted a record 692 projects to the state, generating $63 million for the local economy.
