The Stars Are Out In New Jersey

Some of the entertainment industry’s brightest celebrities have been working on location in the Garden State recently, according to the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission.

Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence (“Silver Linings Playbook”) and Liam Hemsworth just paid a visit to Oakland, where they were shooting scenes for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” the sequel to last year’s hit movie set in a dystopia where a select group of teenagers must engage in a survival challenge where only one can emerge alive. Filming took place in Ramapo Mountain State Forest, with the cooperation of the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry.

Beyonce seems to be everywhere these days, most recently in Newark, where a big budget Pepsi commercial was completed at Brick Studio. She has worked in New Jersey several times before, shooting scenes for the Sony Pictures feature “Cadillac Records” in Newark, and filming the music video “Party” in South Brunswick. Part of a soon-to-be-aired HBO documentary about Beyonce, “Life Is But a Dream,” was taped in Atlantic City last spring.
