The Arts - 2004

Roberta F. Krantz
Manasquan, NJ

Through this program, students are given the opportunity to perform or exhibit their work and then have it reviewed by professional artists who offer constructive insights on how they can refine their work. There is also a reception, an anthology of short stories, poems and essays which are distributed at the event, and presentations in vocal, dance, musical instrument, video and theater, both solo and group.

Each year, over 1,600 student artists from 13-15 schools throughout Ocean County perform and exhibit works.

To date, thousands of children have benefited from Ms. Krantz's dedication to this hands-on learning experience.

Ms. Krantz is admired for her wisdom, dedication and willingness to help others, and absolute commitment to providing positive experiences in the arts for New Jersey's teenagers and putting the student first.

Peers, artists' educators, parents and students agree that her positive attitude, perseverance and commitment to excellence make her a joy to work with.

Since l987, Roberta (Bobbi) Krantz has been the county coordinator for the Annual Teen Arts Festival of Ocean County. 2004 marks the 18 th year that she has willingly and eagerly volunteered her talents, energies and expertise to plan, organize, fundraise and guide this annual event for the Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission.

The teen arts program serves as a non-competitive, educational venue that encourages students, teachers and professional artists to work in constructive, sharing and learning activities.

This massive project includes conducting outreach to the private, public and parochial junior and senior high schools in Ocean County.
