William H. Miller

Senior citizens are often an ignored segment of our society. Many have no family or loved ones to care for them. William “Bill” Miller has found a way to fill that void. He spends countless hours tending to the needs of residents at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Menlo Park. For more than 20 years, Bill has given his time and love to the residents at this facility. He is more than a volunteer: he has become family.

Always willing and eager to help, he is depended upon by staff and residents alike. He can be found organizing recreational games, visiting residents that are confined to their rooms or providing meaningful conversation for those that need it. Everyone looks forward to his visits and miss him terribly when he is not there. Recently Bill was sick, however he still managed to drop by to say hello. Before long, he was back on the job offering support and care to the residents. Bill proves that age is just a number: helping your fellow man makes life worth living. Bill Miller epitomizes this philosophy.
