Grant Opportunities

AmeriCorps Competitive Grants

AmeriCorps, sometimes called the “Domestic Peace Corps” is a national service program funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). The CNCS strategic plan has highlighted the following focus areas: education, energy conservation, health, economic opportunity, service by and for veterans, and disaster services. Agencies eligible to apply include: public or private non-profit organizations; community and faith-based organizations; local education agencies including charter schools; local, county or state government. Competitive applications are reviewed at both the state and national levels.

AmeriCorps programs provide full and part-time opportunities for participants or “members” to serve in their communities. In return for their service, members benefit from a living allowance and an educational award held in trust for tuition or to pay back existing loans.

Application Deadline: The application deadline for AmeriCorps Competitive Grants has passed. Please check back for information about future grants.

2014 New Jersey AmeriCorps Competitive Application Guidelines

A separate NOFO for Formula funding will be available on the website in early 2013. The Commission anticipates that Formula funding will be limited. We, therefore, encourage all applicants with prior AmeriCorps experience to apply for this Competitive NOFO first. All applicants under the Competitive NOFO will automatically be included in the Formula competition.
