Diverse Panelists to Focus on Perception and Reality In the Creative Process

Trenton, NJ Governor Jon S. Corzine and Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells will welcome a diverse panel of some of New Jersey's distinguished women authors at an open reception and panel discussion entitled " Women Writers & The Things They Write About: Perception & Reality In the Creative Process." There is no charge for this event.

"The women here represent an extraordinary group of people who dedicate their talent and creative efforts to enlighten us all," said Governor Corzine. "It's an honor to Celebrate Women's History Month and to recognize the enormous contributions that women have made to our state and society."

Secretary Wells said the panelists will explore their unique creative processes in developing their ideas as well as other pertinent topics facing today's women.  Panelists will include Benilde Little, author of the bestselling novel Good Hair; Holly English, Esq., author of Gender on Trial: Sexual Stereotypes and Work/Life Balance in the Legal Workplace; Jessica G. de Koninck; an attorney and author of Repairs, a collection of poetry; Ruth Irupe Sanabria, a teacher/poet and author of The Strange House Testifies; Dr. Olga Jimenez Wagenheim, a Millburn resident and history professor at Rutgers-Newark & author of Puerto Rico's Revolt for Independence: El Grito de Lares; Lori Bryant-Woolridge, author of the novel Read Between the Lies; Bonita Evans, professor and author of Youth in Foster Care: The Shortcomings of the Child Protective Services, and Julie MacDonnell Chang, a professor and author of A Year of Favor.
