NJ State Council on the Arts Announces FY09 Grant Opportunities and Application Workshops

Trenton, NJ - The New Jersey State Council on the Arts (NJSCA) announces the availability of guidelines and applications for FY09 grants in the following categories:
  • Arts Project Support grants to support single arts events
  • Projects Serving Artists grants to organizations to support artists in advancing their careers and commissioning artists to create new works
  • Arts in Communities grants to support new or expanded projects that connect the arts to people and communities in a meaningful way
  • Building Arts Participation grants for projects that identify and address barriers to broadening, deepening or diversifying arts participation

In order to be eligible for Council grants, an applicant must be a private nonprofit organization incorporated in New Jersey, a unit of local government, or a college/university; be tax-exempt by determination of the IRS; be registered with the New Jersey Charities Registration Bureau; be in existence and providing public programs or services for at least two years; and demonstrate that its activities serve a multi-county region of the state. A Notice of Intent to Apply must be submitted through the NJSCA eGrant system at http://nj.egrant.org by December 13, 2007 (January 8, 2007 for Building Arts Participation). Applications must also be submitted via the eGrant system and are due by February 13, 2008 (March 5, 2008 for Building Arts Participation).

Interested organizations can access a downloadable PDF version of the Guidelines and Application from the Council’s web site at www.njartscouncil.org through which applicants will also submit their applications.

Workshops, conducted by NJSCA staff, intended to furnish prospective applicants with technical assistance and guidance will be offered in various regions of the state.
