THE NEW JERSEY STATE MUSEUM PLANETARIUM LAUNCHES
NEW EXHIBITION EXPLORING SPACE
Planets, Galactic Star Clusters, Supernovae, Distant Galaxies On View

 

WHAT: Heavens Above: Photographs of the Universe from the Hubble Space Telescope” will present images that survey a range of astronomy from the solar system to the evolution of stars to the farthest reaches of space and time. This traveling showcase also features ViewSpace, a plasma display panel with continuously running presentations of Hubble images and animations. The exhibition was organized by the Space Telescope Science Institute and the Midland Center for the Arts of Midland, Michigan. Accompanying the exhibition, the Planetarium will offer the Hubble Vision lasar show at the newly reopened Planetarium, located at 205 West State Street.

WHEN:

The new Heavens Above” exhibition runs April 1 through August 19, 2006 at the Galleries. Also, the Hubble Vision lasar show is available to the general public on Saturdays at 2 p.m. During school spring break, the lasar show can be seen from Tuesday through Friday, from April 18 th to April 21 st at 1 p.m.

 

 

WHO:

Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for children under twelve. Groups of 15 or more are $3 per person. Friends of the State Museum receive a $1 discount per ticket up to a maximum of four.
