Motor Vehicles Regional Office Moving to West Deptford

The Deptford Regional Service Center of New Jersey Motor Vehicle Services will close at the end of business Friday, Nov. 17 and reopen Monday morning in a new location on Route 44 South (Crown Point Road) and Mid Atlantic Parkway in West Deptford.

"We’re making the move over the weekend to minimize any inconvenience to our customers," said Albert B. Ari, acting director of Motor Vehicle Services.

The new facility will accommodate the center’s 33 employees as well as the 14 employees of the agency housed within the center.

The four regional service centers throughout the state – in Wayne, Eatontown, Trenton and now West Deptford – function as branch offices of the MVS headquarters in Trenton. They handle driver licensing and vehicle registration issues that are beyond the scope of an agency, such as restoring suspended licenses. Regional service centers can also collect surcharges imposed after drivers accumulate more than six points.

"As with all our regional service centers, we’re glad to be able to work face-to-face with our customers in the four regions of our state," Ari said.

There is also a driver testing area within the regional center, with three employees administering written tests and scheduling road tests. The 45 privatized agencies in the state issue license applications and renewals, titles, and registrations and plates.

Hours for the new West Deptford RSC will be the same as in the former location: Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
