NJDOT Proposes Regulations Amending
Airport Safety Improvement Aid Program
The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is proposing amendments today to its Airport Safety Improvement Aid regulations to authorize low interest loans to aviation-related businesses that are based at New Jersey’s public use airports.
Individual loans cannot exceed $200,000 and the total loan program is not to exceed 10 percent of the funds appropriated to the Airport Safety Fund in any given year. For Fiscal Year 2001, the Airport Safety fund has been appropriated $7.7 million.
The proposed regulation was published in the New Jersey Register today. The public has until January 4, 2001 to comment on the proposed regulations.

In addition, an informational workshop on the proposed regulations has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, 2000, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Multipurpose room, NJDOT Headquarters, 1035 Parkway Avenue, Ewing, NJ.
Persons planning to attend the informational workshop are asked to call 609-530-5720 at least two working days in advance of the workshop to notify the Department of their planned attendance.
