Commissioner Fox meets with East Windsor officials

On Wednesday, May 1, Commissioner James P. Fox met with East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov. In the meeting with the Mayor, Commissioner Fox acknowledged the justified concerns and complaints by East Windsor officials regarding the lack of notice and communications in connection with the recent installation of detour signs by the Borough of Hightstown for its downtown project.

Commissioner Fox promised that in response to this situation, and in the hopes of preventing similar situations for East Windsor and other New Jersey towns, he would review improvements in the NJDOT procedures. As an example, the Department will consider new regulations requiring that when a town applies for a sign permit for a state highway in another municipality, that town be required to notify the other municipality as part of the application process.
