Commissioner Fox to
address pedestrian safety in Elizabeth

Tuesday, October 15, 2002
Elizabeth Municipal Hall
50 Winfield Scott Plaza
12:45 p.m.

Transportation Commissioner Jamie Fox will join state and local officials for a media briefing on pedestrian safety projects in the City of Elizabeth on Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at 12:45 p.m.

The Department of Transportation is both proposing and undertaking a variety of pedestrian safety improvements in the City of Elizabeth on state and local roads. Route 1&9 is a top priority for capital and safety improvements, along with routes 439 and 82. Local roads like Maple Avenue, North Avenue, Grier Avenue, and others, will also receive safety improvements.

Commissioner Fox has been working closely with Mayor Bollwage, Senator Lesniak, and Assemblymen Cryan and Cohen on these improvements. The tour will provide an opportunity to update local officials and residents on the status of all of these projects.
