New Jersey Maritime Pilot and Docking Pilot Commission proposes
amendments and new rules to existing regulations
New Jersey Maritime Pilot and Docking Pilot Commission is proposing
amendments and new rules for N.J.A.C. 16:64, the rules governing
the licensure and regulation of Maritime Pilots and Docking Pilots
in the State of New Jersey.
rules provide for the better governance of pilot and pilots operations
by the Commission and were made necessary by the adoption, in
2004, of amendments to N.J.S.A. 12:8-1, the statute governing
the Commission. Under the proposal, the Commission establishes
a regulatory structure for a new class of pilots, docking pilots.
proposed rule appeared in the May 16, 2005 issue of the New
Jersey Register . The public has until July 15, 2005
to comment on the proposal. Persons wishing to comment
on the proposal must provide their comments in writing to Timothy
