NJDOT announces opening of ramps on Route 130 and Route 73 in Pennsauken

(Trenton)- Commissioner Kris Kolluri today announced that the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will reopen the ramps to the newly rehabilitated bridge connecting Haddonfield Road, Route 130 and Route 73 in Pennsauken, Camden County on Friday, July 18.

“The reconstruction of the Route 130/Route 73/Haddonfield Road ramps and bridge will ensure the continued safety of this vital interchange,” said Governor Jon S. Corzine. “By closing both ramps and reconstructing the bridge in one stage, NJDOT shortened the duration of construction by six months, thereby reducing its traffic impacts and achieving significant cost savings.”

NJDOT will open the ramp from Haddonfield Road to Route 130 northbound and Route 73 northbound to the motoring public on Friday afternoon by 5 p.m. The ramp from Route 73 southbound to Route 130 northbound will open to traffic on Friday night.

In January 2008, NJDOT closed the ramps in order to replace the deteriorated bridge deck that travels over Route 73 toward Route 130 North. The $2.9 million project has replaced structural steel, reconstructed the bridge deck and increased the bridge’s underclearance in order to ensure that truck traffic can safely travel below the ramp. The closures did not impact mainline Route 73.
