Route 93 drainage improvement
project wrapped up in Leonia
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced the completion of the Route 93 improvement project in Leonia, Bergen County.
The $8.3 million project included drainage improvements, pedestrian safety improvements and resurfacing.
“The Route 93 drainage project will improve driving conditions for motorists in eastern Bergen County by reducing flooding and increasing safety,” said Governor Jon S. Corzine.
NJDOT improved the storm water drainage system on Route 93 from Oakdene Avenue to Christie Heights Street in Leonia. The installation of larger drain pipes and addition of curbside inlets will improve drainage and reduce flooding. The project also included roadway resurfacing and sidewalk and curb repair along Route 93.
NJDOT began the drainage improvement project in August, 2007. Motorists can also access real-time traffic information online at www.511nj.org.
