Route 73 ramp closures announced this week
in Maple Shade and Moorestown
(Trenton) - NJDOT officials today announced a series of entrance and exit ramp closures along Route 73 in Maple Shade and Moorestown next week for milling and paving operations.
The ramps are being repaved as part of the ongoing $18 million project to increase safety and reduce congestion on and around this high-volume stretch of Route 73 in Burlington County.
The following ramps will be closed through the duration of, or partly through, 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night on Monday, November 28 and Tuesday, November 29:
• Route 73 northbound ramp to Fox Meadow Drive
• Route 73 northbound ramp to Main Street (CR 537)
• Route 73 southbound ramp to Main Street (CR 537)
• Route 41 southbound on-ramp to Route 73 northbound
Local police will assist with traffic control during the overnight ramp closures. Motorists will be directed to use nearby Route 38, Route 41, Fellowship Road and South Lenola Road.
NJDOT’s contractor, South State Inc., is constructing an additional travel lane in each direction from south of Fellowship Road/Fox Meadow Drive to CR-537 and realigning and widening the Route 73 and Fellowship Road/Fox Meadow Drive interchange to provide new dedicated turning lanes. The Main Street/CR 537 bridge over Route 73 was also reconstructed as part of this state-funded contract, which is anticipated for completion in spring 2012.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information.
