Route 21 northbound Exit 6 ramp reopened Belleville
Passaic Valley Water Commission completed major water main repair along roadway weeks earlier than originally anticipated
(Trenton) - NJDOT officials today announced that the Route 21 northbound Exit 6 ramp for Route 7/Belleville/N. Arlington was reopened to traffic over this past weekend, approximately four weeks earlier than originally planned.
The ramp was closed in mid-March to accommodate a Passaic Valley Water Commission water main repair project. At the time of the closure, the expectation was that construction would require the closure of the ramp for up to eight weeks.
The Route 7 bridge remained in operation and open to motorists during the water main repair work, which was performed under an NJDOT regional highway-occupancy permit.
