NJDOT completes Route 17 southbound resurfacing from Ramsey to Saddle River in two months

(Trenton) - NJDOT officials today announced a project to resurface close to four miles of Route 17 southbound from Airmount Avenue (CR 83) in Ramsey Borough to the vicinity of Cameron Road in Saddle River, Bergen County has been completed in just over two months time.

NJDOT’s contractor, Della Pello Paving Inc., began preliminary construction activities in mid-July and has reached substantial completion on the project as of September 19.

The $2.9 million pavement rehabilitation project will improve motorist safety and extend the pavement lifespan along the full width of Route 17 from milepost 23.1 to milepost 19.6 - through Ramsey, Upper Saddle River, Allendale and Saddle River - including all travel lanes, turn lanes and shoulders. The highway has been restriped and some minor surface repairs were made to the Route 17 southbound bridge over Allendale Road.

All of the paving work was performed overnight with NJDOT maintaining at least one Route 17 southbound travel lane, as well as access to all businesses, throughout construction.
