Route 202 in Far Hills to be open
for the start of school tomorrow

Mine Brook culvert replacement project will be completed tonight

(Trenton) – The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced today that a section of Route 202 between Sunny Branch Road and Fox Hunt Lane in Far Hills (Somerset County) will be reopened overnight, following the completion of a project to replace the Mine Brook culvert.

The work has been completed on time and will be open to motorists for the first day of school tomorrow, September 4.

Route 202 had been closed since late June for construction, with traffic detoured onto I-287. The $724,000 federally-funded project replaced the deteriorated 100-year old culvert, installed new guiderails, made environmental improvements, and the road was repaved.

Variable Message Signs will be in place alerting motorists that the road is reopened.
