Route 18 northbound lane closures
for priority repairs in East Brunswick today

Water main break damaged roadway

(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced lane closures on Route 18 northbound in East Brunswick, Middlesex County, for priority repairs following a burst water main yesterday.

Beginning at 9 a.m. today, Friday, December 26, an NJDOT contractor will close the right and center northbound lanes on Route 18 between South Woodland Avenue and North Woodland Avenue to repave the roadway following the repair of a water main break yesterday. The lanes will remain closed until the repair is complete, which is expected to be early this afternoon. One lane will be maintained throughout construction.

Portable variable message signs are being utilized to provide advance notification to the motoring public of all traffic pattern changes associated with the work.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.  Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information.
