                 NOTICE

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) proudly facilitates environmental programs, particularly those that enhance and beautify New Jersey's highway system. To better serve its users, NJDOT is proactively restructuring the Adopt-A-Highway programs. They
include the Adopt-A-Highway Litter Removal Program, Adopt-A-Highway Landscape Program, Adopt-A-Highway Welcome Sign Program, and the Sponsor A Highway Program.

To accomplish this, NJDOT will immediately suspend the Adopt-A-Highway Program's additional adoptions, contract renewals and agreement/permit processing until further notice.

Note that all those program members in compliance will remain in the program, but on hold; those program members in non-compliance will be removed from the program.

As NJDOT reviews all the program structures and cost benefits, it will streamline the programs for maximum efficiency as necessary and will welcome your participation at that time.
