January 2004
The first half of the erection truss is lowered following completion of the North Approach spans. The truss will be taken to the south side of the channel and positioned to begin erecting the South Approach spans.

December 2003
The main span is built in the balanced cantilever method. The span across the navigational channel is 440 feet long and the spans on either side of the channel are 300 feet. The first segment for the side span is lifted into position and temporarily held in place by the beams across the pier segment. A closure pour will be cast at the joint of the segments and post tensioning bars will be used to lock the segments together.
