The precast concrete closure segment for the record setting 440' main span of the Victory Bridge is being lifted into position. This completes the superstructure over the navigational channel of the Raritan River. Soon after, the first of the twin bridges was opened to traffic.

When the closure segment is near its final position, it is adjusted to fit the tips of the previously erected segments.

The last segment of the record setting 440' main span unit is being lifted into position. Once in place, concrete will be cast between the segment and the previously erected segments to complete the span.
