Jersey Department of Transportation
(NJDOT) has determined
that construction will
be divided into four
contracts (pdf

The first
and second contracts are
under construction. Construction
of the last contract is
expected to be completed
in Summer 2020. Advanced
utility relocation work
for Contract 1 is completed.

and
is scheduled
for completion
in Fall
2014 (approach
span on
Jersey City
side).
- Final
design documents
for Contract
3 (lift
bridge superstructure) were
reviewed
by the Department.
The Pre
Plans, Specifications and Estimate
(PS&E)
submission
comments are
being resolved.
- Final design documents
for Contract
4 (on-line
work)
is scheduled
to be
completed
before
December
2013.
