Restricted Parking and Stopping


Route US 1 & 9

(a)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 1 & 9 described in this section are designated and established as "no stopping or standing" zones where stopping or standing is prohibited at all times, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions adopted in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, NJSA 52:14B-1 et seq., and NJAC 1:30.  In accordance with the NJSA 39:4-198, proper signs shall be erected to notify the motoring public.

1.

In Middlesex County:

i. In the Township of Woodbridge:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

2.

In Union County:

i. In the City of Linden:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

3.

In Essex County:

i. In the City of Newark:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

4.

In Hudson County:

i. In the City of Jersey City:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

ii. In the Township of North Bergen:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

In Bergen County:

i. In the Borough of Ridgefield:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other parking restrictions.

ii. In the Borough of Palisades Park:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto, which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

(b)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 1 & 9 described in this subsection are designed and established as "no parking" zones where parking is prohibited at all times. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199 permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established taxi stand:

1.

In Bergen County:

i. In the Borough of Palisades Park:

(1)

No parking (taxi stand) along the westerly (southbound) side:

(A) Beginning of a point 62 feet south of the southerly curb line of Columbia Avenue Ramp extending to a point 46 feet southerly therefrom.

(c)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 1 & 9 described in this subsection are designated and established as "no parking" zones where parking is prohibited at all times. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199 permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established bus stops:

1.

In Union County:

i. In the City of Linden:

(1)

Near side bus stops along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Clinton Street - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Clinton Street and extending 120 feet southerly therefrom.

(B) Woodlawn Avenue - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Woodlawn Avenue and extending 120 feet southerly therefrom.

(2)

Far side bus stops along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) West Brook Drive - Beginning at the northerly curb line of West Brook Drive and extending 200 feet northerly therefrom.

(B) Gilchrist Avenue - Beginning at the northerly curb line of Gilchrist Avenue and extending 120 feet northerly therefrom.

(C) Park Avenue - Beginning at the northerly curb line of Park Avenue and extending 120 feet northerly therefrom.

(3)

Mid-Block bus stops along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Between West Brook Drive and Willow Glade Road - Beginning at a point 1,050 feet north of the northerly curb line of West Brook Drive and extending 150 feet northerly thereof.

(B) Between Willow Glade Road and Staten Island Rapid Transit Railroad - Beginning at a point 600 feet north of the northerly curb line of Willow Glade road prolongated and extending 200 feet northerly thereof.

(4)

Near side bus stops along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Park Avenue - Beginning at the northerly curb line of Park Avenue and extending 120 feet northerly therefrom.

(B) Clinton Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of Clinton Street and extending 120 feet northerly thereof.

(5)

Far side bus stops along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Bacheller Avenue - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Bacheller Avenue and extending 150 feet southerly therefrom.

(B) Gilchrist Avenue - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Gilchrist Avenue prolongated and extending 120 feet southerly therefrom.

(C) Industrial Lane - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Industrial Lane and extending 120 feet southerly thereof.

Mid-block bus stops along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Between Willow Glade Road and the Staten Island Rapid Transit Railroad - Beginning at a point 250 feet north of the northerly curb line of Willow Glade Road and extending 200 feet northerly thereof.

ii. In the City of Elizabeth:

(1)

Near side bus stops along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) North Avenue - Beginning at the southerly curb line of North Avenue and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.

(2)

Far side bus stops along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) East Jersey Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of East Jersey Street and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(B) William Street - Beginning at the Northerly curb line of William Street and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(C) Anna Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of Anna Street and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(D) Olive Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of Olive Street and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(E) Julia Street – Beginning at the northerly curb line of Julia Street and extending 210 feet northerly therefrom.

(F) Fairmount Avenue - Beginning at the northerly curb line of Fairmount Avenue and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(G) North Avenue - Beginning at the northerly curb line of North Avenue and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(3)

Far side bus stops along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Neck Lane - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Neck Lane and extending 100 feet southerly therefrom.

(B) North Avenue - Beginning at the southerly curb line of North Avenue and extending 100 feet southerly therefrom.

(C) Fairmount Avenue - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Fairmount Avenue and extending 100 feet southerly therefrom.

(D) Julia Street - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Julia Street and extending 100 feet southerly therefrom.

(E) Olive Street - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Olive Street and extending 100 feet southerly therefrom.

(F) Bond Street - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Bond Street and extending 100 feet southerly therefrom.

(G) Lafayette Street - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Lafayette Street and extending 100 feet southerly therefrom.

In Hudson County:

i. In the Township of North Bergen:

(1)

Near side bus stops along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Granton Avenue - Beginning at the southerly curb line of Granton Avenue and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.

(B) 73rd Street - Beginning at the southerly curb line of 73rd Street and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.

(C) 76th Street - Beginning at the southerly curb line of 76th Street and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.

(D) 79th Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 79th Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

(E) 86th Street - Beginning at the southerly curb line of 86th Street and extending 105 feet southerly therefrom.

(2)

Far side bus stops along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) 43rd Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 43rd Street and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(B) 49th Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 49th Street and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(C) 51st Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 51st Street and extending 132 feet northerly therefrom.

(D) 54th Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 54th Street and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(E) 83rd Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 83rd Street and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(F) 91st Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 91st Street and extending 100 feet northerly therefrom.

(3)

Near side bus stops along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) 91st Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 91st Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

(B) 86th Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 86th Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

(C) 83rd Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 83rd Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

(D) 79th Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 79th Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

(E) 76th Street - Beginning at the prolongation of the northerly curb line of 76th Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

(F) 74th Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 74th Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

(G) 69th Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 69th Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

(H) 51st Street - Beginning at the prolongation of the northerly curb line of 51st Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

(I) 49th Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 49th Street and extending 130 feet northerly therefrom.

(J) 43rd Street - Beginning at the northerly curb line of 43rd Street and extending 105 feet northerly therefrom.

In Bergen County:

i. In the Borough of Ridgefield:

(1)

Near side bus stop along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) Banta Place - Beginning at the prolongation of the northerly curb line of Banta Place and extending 135 feet northerly therefrom.

ii.  In the Borough of Palisades Park:

(1)

Far side bus stop along the southbound (westerly) side:

(A) East Columbia Avenue - Beginning at the southerly curb line of East Columbia Avenue and extending 100 feet southerly therefrom.

(d)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 1 & 9 described in this subsection are designated and established as restricted parking space for the use of persons who have been issued special Vehicle Identification Cards by the Division of Motor Vehicles in accordance with NJSA 39:4-197.5. Under the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established handicapped parking space:

1.

In Union County:

i. In the City of Elizabeth:

(1)

Restricted parking - along the Service Road southbound (Spring Street) west side:

(A) Beginning at a point 40 feet north of the northerly curb line of Fanny Street and extending to a point 22 feet north therefrom.

(e)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 1 & 9 described in this subsection are designated and established as no parking zones for designated curb loading zones and loading zones.  In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established loading zones:

1.

In Bergen County:

i. In the Borough of Ridgefield:

(1)

Loading zone along the northbound (easterly) side:

(A) Beginning at a point 230 feet north of the northerly curb line of Edgewater Avenue and extending to a point 50 feet northerly therefrom.
