Restricted Parking and Stopping


Route US 40

(a)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 40 described in this subsection are designated and established as "no stopping or standing" zones where stopping or standing is prohibited at all times, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions adopted in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, NJSA 52:14B-1 et seq., and NJAC 1:30. In accordance with the NJSA 39:4-198, proper signs shall be erected to notify the motoring public.

In Salem County:

Note: State Highway Route US 40 is coincident with State Highway Route I-295 from approximate mileposts 0.00 to 0.95 and is under Delaware River and Bay Authority jurisdiction for this length.

Note: State Highway Route US 40 is coincident with the New Jersey Turnpike from approximate mileposts 0.95 to 1.70 and is under New Jersey Turnpike Authority jurisdiction for this length.

Note: State Highway Route US 40 is coincident with State Highway Route NJ 45 from approximate mileposts 10.02 to 10.67.

i. In the Township of Carneys Point:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions.

ii. In the Township of Pilesgrove:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) Beginning at a point 400 feet west of East Lake Road and extending to a point 750 feet east of East Lake Road (approximate mileposts 11.60 to 11.80).

(B) Between Jill Road and Sharptown-Auburn Road.

iii. In the Borough of Woodstown:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) Beginning at the easterly curb line of East Wilson Avenue and extending to the prolongation of the westerly curb line of Richman Street.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Beginning at the easterly curb line of Main Street to a point 80 feet easterly therefrom.

(3)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Beginning at the easterly curb line of Main Street to Bullet Lane.

(4)

No stopping or standing along both sides (Route US 40-NJ 45)

(A) From Green Street westerly to the Woodstown Borough – Pilesgrove Township westerly corporate line.

(B) From the westerly curb line of Main Street to a point 150 feet westerly therefrom.

iv. In the Township of Upper Pittsgrove:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) From a point 800 feet west of the junction of Route NJ 77 traffic circle, to a point 800 feet east of the Route NJ 77 traffic circle, including all ramps and connections under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Between a point 1,700 feet east of, and a point 2,370 feet east of the center line of Salbtown Road.

(3)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Between a point 1,850 feet east of, and a point 1,700 feet east of the center line of Salbtown Road.

(B) Beginning a point 650 feet west of the center line of Salbtown Road and extending to a point 850 feet west thereof.

v. In the Borough of Elmer:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Beginning at the easterly curb line of County Route 648 (North Main Street) to a point 68 feet easterly therefrom.

In Gloucester County:

Note: State Highway Route US 40 is coincident with State Highway Route NJ 47 from approximate mileposts 26.71 to 27.21.

i.In the Township of Franklin:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) Between the Franklin Township corporate line and the Upper Pittsgrove Township corporate line and the intersection of US 40-NJ 47 (approximate mileposts 24.55 and 26.71).

(B) Beginning at the westerly curb line of Trail Road to the easterly curb line of Elmwood Avenue.

(C) Between a point 1,000 feet west of the westerly curb line of County Road 555 (Main Lake Road) and a point 1,000 feet east of the easterly curb line of County Road 555 (Main Lake Road).

(2)

No stopping or standing along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) From a point 600 feet east of the prolongation of the easterly curb line of Oak Lane to the westerly curb line of Old Delsea Drive.

(B) From the prolongation of the westerly curb line of Dutch Mill Road to a point 285 feet east of the prolongation of the easterly curb line of Elmwood Avenue.

(C) From a point 1,250 feet west of the westerly curb line of Grub Road to the westerly curb line of Grub Road.

(3)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) From the prolongation of the westerly curb line of Grub Road to a point 1,250 feet west of the prolongation of the westerly curb line of Grub Road.

(B) From a point 285 feet east of the easterly curb line of Elmwood Avenue to the easterly curb line of Dutch Mill Road.

(C) From the westerly curb line of Dutch Mill Road-Defiance Road to a point 600 feet east of the easterly curb line of Oak Lane.

In Atlantic County:

Note: State Highway Route US 40 is coincident with State Highway Route NJ 50 from approximate mileposts 46.39 to 47.01.

Note: State Highway Route US 40 is coincident with State Highway Route US 322 from approximate mileposts 57.77 to 64.32 (end of route) where it is under county (Atlantic County) jurisdiction from approximate mileposts 64.08 to 64.32.  For parking and stopping regulations in this section see Route US 40-US 322.

i. In the Borough of Buena:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) From a point 306 feet east of the easterly curb line of Arbor Avenue to a point 70 feet easterly therefrom.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) From a point 100 feet east of the easterly curb line of South Boulevard to a point 155 feet west of the westerly curb line of North Boulevard.

ii. In the Township of Buena Vista:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) Between the easterly curb line of Route NJ 54 and the westerly curb line of the most westerly driveway to the Buena Vista Township Municipal Building (approximate mileposts 35.13 to 36.15).

(2)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) From the center line of County Route 540 to a point 115 feet east thereof.

iii. In the Township of Hamilton:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) Between the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Babcocks Creek.

(B) Beginning at the easterly side of Old Harding Highway and extending 1,500feet east therefrom.

(2)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Between the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Farragut Avenue.

(B) Beginning at the easterly curb line of Route NJ 50 to a point 250 feet easterly therefrom.

(3)

No stopping or standing along both sides (Route US 40-NJ 50):

(A) From the centerline of Route NJ 50-Mill Street to a point 200 feet east of the centerline of Central Avenue.

(b)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 40 described in this subsection are designated and established as "no parking" zones where parking is prohibited at all times. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established bus stops:

1.

In Atlantic County:

i. In the Township of Buena Vista:

(1)

Near side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Main Avenue - Beginning at the westerly curb line of Main Avenue and extending 105 feet westerly therefrom.

(B) Greenbriar Avenue - Beginning at the westerly curb line of Greenbriar Avenue and extending 105 feet westerly therefrom.

(C) Liewellyn Avenue - Beginning at the westerly curb line of Liewellyn Avenue and extending 105 feet westerly therefrom.

(2)

Far side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Buena Tuckahoe Road (County Route 557) - Beginning at the easterly curb line of Buena-Tuckahoe Road (County Route 557) and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(3)

Near side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Liewellyn Avenue - Beginning at the easterly curb line of Liewellyn Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Greenbriar Avenue - Beginning at the easterly curb line of Greenbriar Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(4)

Far side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Main Avenue - Beginning at the westerly curb line of Main Avenue and extending 105 feet westerly therefrom.

ii. In the Township of Hamilton:

(1)

Far side bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Estelle Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Estelle avenue and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Strand Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Strand Avenue and extending 200 feet easterly therefrom.

(C) Beacon Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Beacon Avenue and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(D) Crocus Avenue West – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Crocus Avenue West and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(E) Farragut Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Farragut Avenue and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(F) Meadowbrook Drive - Beginning at the prolongation of the easterly curb line of Meadowbrook Drive and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(G) Pineland Gardens Entrance Drive – Beginning at the prolongation of the easterly curb line of Pineland Gardens Entrance Drive and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(H) Thirty Second Street – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Thirty Second Street and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(I) Benchmark Lane – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Benchmark Lane and extending 100 feet easterly therefrom.

(2)

Mid-Block bus stops along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) Between Hoover Drive and Hoover Road – Beginning 150 feet west of the westerly curb line of Hoover Drive and extending 135 feet westerly therefrom.

(B) Between Forty Wire Road and Longwood Avenue – Beginning 200 feet east of the easterly curb line of Forty Wire Road and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(C) Between Central Avenue and River Drive – Beginning at a point 165 feet east of the easterly curb line of Central Avenue and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(D) Between Cantillon Boulevard and Meadow Brook Drive – Beginning at a point 150 feet west of the westerly curb line of Cantillon Boulevard and extending 135 feet westerly therefrom.

(3)

Near side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Thirty Second Street – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Thirty Second Street and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(B) Farragut Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Farragut Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(C) Central Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Central Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(D) Harley Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Harley Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(E) Beacon Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Beacon Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(F) Strand Avenue – Beginning at the easterly curb line of Strand Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.

(4)

Far side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Pineland Garden Entrance Drive – Beginning at the westerly curb line of Pineland Gardens Entrance Drive and extending 100 feet westerly therefrom.

(B) Meadowbrook Drive – Beginning at the westerly curb line of Meadowbrook Drive and extending 100 feet westerly therefrom.

(C) Doctor Dennis Foreman Drive – Beginning at the westerly curb line of Doctor Dennis Foreman Drive and extending 100 feet westerly therefrom.

(D) DeHirsch Avenue – Beginning at the westerly curb line of DeHirsch Avenue and extending 100 feet westerly therefrom.

(5)

Mid-block bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Between Cantillon Boulevard and Old Egg Harbor Road – Beginning 150 feet west of the westerly curb line of Cantillon Boulevard and extending 135 feet westerly therefrom.

(B) Between Forty-Wire Road and Longwood Avenue – Beginning 200 feet east of the easterly curb line of Forty Wire Road and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(C) Between Hoover Drive and Hoover Road – Beginning 150 feet east of the easterly curb line of Hoover Drive and extending 135 feet easterly therefrom.

(c)

The certain parts of State Highway Route US 40 described in this subsection are designated and established as "time limit parking" zones where parking is prohibited at all times except as specified below. In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-198, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established time limit parking zones:

1.

In Salem County:

i. In the Borough of Woodstown:

(1)

Two (2) hour time limit parking along both sides between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday:

(A) Between Main Street and Spring Garden Street.

(B) Between West Maple Avenue and East Wilson Avenue; Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

(C) Between Richman Street and the Woodstown Borough-Pilesgrove Township corporate line.

(2)

Two (2) hour time limit parking along the eastbound (southerly) side between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday:

(A) Beginning at a point 80 feet east of the easterly curb line of Main Street to West Maple Avenue.

(3)

Two (2) hour time limit parking along the westbound (northerly) side between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday:

(A) Beginning at a point 250 feet east of the easterly curb line of Main Street to West Maple Avenue.
