Restricted Parking and Stopping


Route NJ 88

(a)

The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 88 described in this subsection are designated and established as "no stopping or standing" zones where stopping or standing is prohibited at all times, except in areas covered by other parking restrictions adopted in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, NJSA 52:14B-1 et seq., and NJAC 1:30. In accordance with the NJSA 39:4-198, proper signs shall be erected to notify the motoring public.

1.

In Ocean County:

i.  In the Township of Lakewood:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) From the easterly curb line of Route US 9 to a point 90 feet easterly therefrom (approximate mileposts 0.00 to 0.02).

(B) From a point 300 feet west of the prolongation of the westerly curb line of Lexington Avenue to a point 150 feet east of the easterly curb line of New Hampshire Avenue (approximate mileposts 0.2 to 2.12).

(2)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) From the easterly curb line of Route US 9 to a point 212 feet easterly therefrom (approximate mileposts 0.0 to 0.04).

(B) Between Lexington Avenue and the westerly curb line of the westerly exit of the Ocean County Park (approximate mileposts 0.25 to 1.37).

(C) From a point 150 feet west of the westerly curb line of New Hampshire Avenue to a point 150 feet east of the easterly curb line of New Hampshire Avenue (approximate mileposts 2.12 to 2.20).

ii.  In the Township of Brick:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions (approximate mileposts 3.55 to 7.38).

iii.  In the Borough of Point Pleasant:

(1)

No stopping or standing along both sides:

(A) For the entire length within the corporate limits, including all ramps and connections thereto which are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Transportation; except in areas covered by other approved parking restrictions (approximate mileposts 7.38 to 10.02).

(b)

The certain parts of State Highway Route 88 described in this subsection are designated and established as “no parking bus stop” zones where parking is prohibited at all times.  In accordance with the provisions of NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established bus stops:

In Ocean County:

i.  In the Township of Lakewood:

(1)

Far side bus stops along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) New Hampshire Avenue – Beginning at the westerly curb line of New Hampshire Avenue to a point 200 feet westerly therefrom.

(c)

The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 88 described in this subsection are designated and established as “no parking” zones where parking is prohibited at all times and hours.  In accordance with NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs at the following established loading zones:

In Ocean County:

i.  In the Township of Lakewood:

(1)

No parking (loading zone) along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) Between points 258 feet and 318 feet west of the westerly curb line of Lexington Avenue.

(d)

The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 88 described in this subsection are designated and established as “no parking” zones where parking is prohibited at certain times and hours.  In accordance with NJSA 39:4-199, permission is granted to erect appropriate signs.

In Ocean County:

i.  In the Township of Lakewood:

(1)

No stopping or standing along the eastbound (southerly) side:

(A) From a point 90 feet east of the easterly curb line of Route US 9 to Clifton Avenue between the hours of 3:00 AM and 8:00 AM (except Sundays and legal holidays) (approximate mileposts 0.02 to 0.1).

(B) From the easterly curb line of Clifton Avenue to a point 300 feet west of the westerly prolongation of Lexington Avenue between the hours of 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM (approximate mileposts 0.1 to 0.2).

(2)

No stopping or standing along the westbound (northerly) side:

(A) From the westerly curb line of Lexington Avenue to Clifton Avenue between the hours of 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM (approximate mileposts 0.26 to 0.1).

(B) From Clifton Avenue to a point 212 feet east of the easterly curb line of Route US 9 between the hours of 3:00 AM and 8:00 AM (except Sundays and legal holidays) (approximate mileposts 0.1 to 0.05).
