Speed Limits for State Roads


Route US 30

(a)

The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route US 30 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:

1.

In Camden County:

i. In the City of Camden:

NOTE: State Highway Route US 30 is coincident with State Highway Route I-676 from approximate mileposts 0.00 to 0.92.

NOTE: State Highway Route US 30 is under Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) jurisdiction from approximate mileposts 0.00 to 0.92.

NOTE: State Highway Route US 30 is coincident with State Highway Route US 130 from approximate mileposts 3.26 to 4.26.

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between the ramp to I-676 and the westernmost City of Camden Camden-Pennsauken Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 0.92 to 2.77); thence

(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between the Pennsauken Township-City of Camden corporate line (Cooper River) and the City of Camden-Collingswood Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 3.62 to 3.77); thence

ii. In the Township of Pennsauken:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between the westernmost City of Camden-Pennsauken Township corporate line and the Pennsauken Township-City of Camden corporate line (Cooper River) (approximate mileposts 2.77 to 3.62); thence

iii. In the Borough of Collingswood:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between the City of Camden-Collingswood Borough corporate line and the intersection of Route US 30-Route US 130 (Collingswood Circle) (approximate mileposts 3.77 to 4.26); thence

(B) Zone 2: 35 MPH hour between the intersection of Route US 30-Route US 130 (Collingswood Circle) and the Collingswood Borough-Oaklyn Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 4.26 to 5.13); thence

iv. In the Borough of Oaklyn:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Collingswood Borough – Oaklyn Borough corporate line and West Beechwood Avenue (approximate mileposts 5.13 to 5.26); thence

(B) Zone 2: 30 MPH between West Beechwood Avenue and the Oaklyn Borough-Haddon Township corporate line (East Clinton Avenue) (approximate mileposts 5.26 to 5.52); thence

(2)

For the eastbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 30 MPH between the Oaklyn Borough- Haddon Township corporate line (East Clinton Avenue) and the Oaklyn Borough-Audubon Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 5.52 to 6.06); thence

v. In the Township of Haddon:

(1)

For the westbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 30 MPH between the Oaklyn Borough-Haddon Township corporate line (East Clinton Avenue) and the Haddon Township-Audubon Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 5.52 to 5.92); thence

vi. In the Borough of Audubon:

(1)

For the westbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 30 MPH between the Haddon Township-Audubon Borough corporate line and the Audubon Borough-Oaklyn Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 5.92 to 6.06); thence

(2)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 30 MPH between the Oaklyn Borough-Audubon Borough corporate line and West Pine Street-East Pine Street (approximate mileposts 6.06 to 6.56); thence

(B) Zone 2: 35 MPH between West Pine Street-East Pine Street and the Audubon Borough-Haddon Heights Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 6.56 to 6.99); thence

vii. In the Borough of Haddon Heights:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 35 MPH between the Audubon Borough-Haddon Heights Borough corporate line and the Haddon Heights Borough-Borough of Barrington corporate line (Clements Bridge Road Route NJ 41) (approximate mileposts 6.99 to 7.93); thence

viii. In the Borough of Barrington:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 35 MPH between Haddon Heights Borough-Barrington Borough corporate line (Clements Bridge Road Route NJ 41) and the westernmost Barrington Borough-Lawnside Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 7.93 to 8.27); thence

(2)

For the eastbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 35 MPH between the westernmost Barrington Borough-Lawnside Borough corporate line and the easternmost Lawnside Borough-Barrington Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 8.27 to 8.35); thence

ix. In the Borough of Lawnside:

(1)

For the westbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 35 MPH between the westernmost Barrington Borough-Lawnside Borough corporate line and the easternmost Lawnside Borough-Barrington Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 8.27 to 8.35); thence

(2)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 35 MPH between the easternmost Lawnside Borough-Barrington Borough corporate line and Mouldy Road (approximate mileposts 8.35 to 8.47); thence

(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between Mouldy Road and the Lawnside Borough-Magnolia Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 8.47 to 9.10); thence

x.In the Borough of Magnolia:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Lawnside Borough-Magnolia Borough corporate line and the Magnolia Borough-Somerdale Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 9.10 to 10.04); thence

xi.In the Borough of Somerdale:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Magnolia Borough-Somerdale Borough corporate line and the westernmost Somerdale Borough-Stratford Borough corporate, except for 30 MPH when passing through the Our Lady of Grace School zone (mileposts 10.50 to 10.57), during recess when the presence of children is clearly visible from the roadway or while children are going to or leaving school, during opening or closing hours (approximate mileposts 10.04 to 10.92); thence

(2)

For the westbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the westernmost Somerdale Borough-Stratford Borough corporate line and the easternmost Stratford Borough-Somerdale Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 10.92 to 11.58); thence

xii. In the Borough of Stratford:

(1)

For the eastbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the westernmost Somerdale Borough-Stratford Borough corporate line and the easternmost Stratford Borough-Somerdale Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 10.92 to 11.58); thence

(2)

For both directions of traffic:

(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between the easternmost Stratford Borough-Somerdale Borough corporate line and the Somerdale Borough-Lindenwold Borough/Laurel Springs Borough corporate line (Broadway Avenue County Route 697) (approximate mileposts 11.58 to 12.37); thence

xiii. In the Borough of Laurel Springs:

(1)

For the eastbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Somerdale Borough-Lindenwold Borough/Laurel Springs Borough corporate line (Broadway Avenue County Route 697) and the Laurel Springs Borough-Lindenwold Borough corporate line except for 30 MPH when passing through the Saint Lawrence School zone (12.37 to 12.78) during recess when the presence of children is clearly visible from the roadway or while children are going to or leaving school, during opening or closing hours  (approximate mileposts 12.37 to 12.78); thence

xiv.In the Borough of Lindenwold:

(1)

For the westbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Somerdale Borough-Lindenwold Borough/Laurel Springs Borough corporate line (Broadway Avenue County Route 697) and the Laurel Springs Borough-Lindenwold Borough corporate line (Stone Road) except for 30 MPH when passing through the Saint Lawrence School zone (approximate mileposts 12.37 to 12.78) during recess when the presence of children is clearly visible from the roadway or while children are going to or leaving school, during opening or closing hours  (approximate mileposts 12.37 to 12.78); thence

(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between the Borough of Clementon southwesterly line (Oak Lane) and the Borough of Clementon northwesterly line (Gibbsboro Road) (approximate mileposts 13.44 to 13.55); thence

(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH between the Clementon Borough-Lindenwold Borough corporate line (New Freedom Road County Route 691) and the easternmost Clementon Borough-Lindenwold Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 14.33 to 14.66); thence

(2)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Laurel Springs Borough-Lindenwold Borough corporate line (Stone Road) and the Lindenwold Borough-Clementon Borough corporate line (Oak Lane), except for 30 MPH when passing through the Saint Lawrence Parochial School, Lindenwold #1 School and Overbrook Junior High School zones (mileposts 12.78 to 13.19) during recess when the presence of children is clearly visible from the roadway or while children are going to or leaving school, during opening or closing hours (approximate mileposts 12.78 to 13.46); thence

(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between the easternmost Clementon Borough-Lindenwold Borough corporate line and the Lindenwold Borough-Berlin Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 14.66 to 14.91); thence

xv.In the Borough of Clementon:

(1)

For the eastbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Lindenwold Borough-Clementon Borough corporate line (Oak Lane) and the Lindenwold Borough-Clementon Borough corporate line (Gibbsboro Road) (approximate mileposts 13.46 to 13.55); thence

(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between the Clementon Borough-Lindenwold Borough corporate line (New Freedom Road County Route 691) and the easternmost Clementon Borough-Lindenwold Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 14.33 to 14.66); thence

(2)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Lindenwold Borough-Clementon Borough corporate line (Gibbsboro Road) and Trout Avenue (approximate mileposts 13.55 to 13.88); thence

(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between Trout Avenue and the Clementon Borough-Lindenwold Borough corporate line (New Freedom Road County Route 691) (approximate mileposts 13.88 to 14.33); thence

xvi. In the Borough of Berlin:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between the Lindenwold Borough-Berlin Borough corporate line and Clementon-Berlin Road (County Route 534), except for a 30 MPH when passing through the Our Lady of Mount Carmel school zone, during recess when the presence of children is clearly visible from the roadway or while children are going to or leaving school, during opening or closing hours (approximate mileposts 14.91 to 16.29); thence

(B) Zone 2: 35 MPH between Clementon-Berlin Road (County Route 534) and Washington Avenue (approximate mileposts 16.29 to 17.07); thence

(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH between Washington Avenue and Florence Avenue (approximate mileposts 17.07 to 17.68); thence

(D) Zone 4: 50 MPH between Florence Avenue and the Berlin Borough-Waterford Township corporate line (Taunton Road County Route 536 S) (approximate mileposts 17.68 to 18.28); thence

xvii.In the Township of Waterford:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Berlin Borough-Waterford Township corporate line (Taunton Road County Route 536 S) and the Waterford Township-Winslow Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 18.28 to 21.58); thence

(2)

For the westbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Waterford Township-Winslow Township corporate line and the Winslow Township-Chesilhurst Borough corporate line (Hendricks Street County Route 717) (approximate mileposts 21.58 to 21.63); thence

xiii. In the Borough of Chesilhurst:

(1)

For the westbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Winslow Township-Chesilhurst Borough corporate line (Hendricks Street County Route 717) and Hendricks Avenue (approximate mileposts 21.63 to 21.64); thence

(2)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between Hendricks Avenue and the Chesilhurst Borough-Winslow Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 21.64 to 22.78); thence

xix. In the Township of Winslow:

For the eastbound direction of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Waterford Township-Winslow Township corporate line and the Winslow Township-Chesilhurst Borough corporate line (Hendricks Street County Route 717) (approximate mileposts 21.58 to 21.63); thence

(B) Zone 2: 50 MPH between the Winslow Township-Chesilhurst Borough corporate line (Hendricks Street County Route 717) and Hendricks Avenue (approximate mileposts 21.63 to 21.64); thence

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Chesilhurst Borough-Winslow Township corporate line and the Winslow Township-Town of Hammonton corporate line (approximate mileposts 22.78 to 27.95); thence

i.  In the Town of Hammonton:

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Winslow Township-Town of Hammonton corporate line and Fairview Avenue (County Route 678) (approximate mileposts 27.95 to 29.16); thence

(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between Fairview Avenue (County Route 678) and Central Avenue (County Route 542) (approximate mileposts 29.16 to 31.05); thence

(C) Zone 3: 50 MPH between Central Avenue (County Route 542) and the Town of Hammonton-Mullica Township corporate line (Seventh Street) (approximate mileposts 31.05 to 32.66); thence

ii. In the Township of Mullica:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Town of Hammonton-Mullica Township corporate line (Seventh Street) and 950 feet east of Elmwood Road-Weymouth Road (County Route 623) (approximate mileposts 32.60 to 36.50); thence

(B) Zone 2: 55 MPH between 950 feet east of Elmwood Road-Weymouth Road (County Route 623) and Heidelberg Avenue (approximate mileposts 36.50 to 40.29); thence

(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH between Heidelberg Avenue and the Mullica Township-City of Egg Harbor corporate line (approximate mileposts 40.29 to 40.73); thence

iii. In the City of Egg Harbor:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between the Mullica Township-City of Egg Harbor corporate line and 50 feet west of the westernmost intersection of New York Avenue (approximate mileposts 40.73 to 40.79); thence

(B) Zone 2: 35 MPH between 50 feet west of the westernmost intersection of New York Avenue and San Francisco Avenue (approximate mileposts 40.79 to 41.82); thence

(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH between San Francisco Avenue and the City of Egg Harbor-Galloway Township corporate line (Bermen Avenue County Route 647) (approximate mileposts 41.82 to 42.17); thence

iv. In the Township of Galloway:

(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between Taylor Avenue and Galloway Township-City of Absecon corporate line (approximate mileposts 49.04 to 50.55); thence

v. In the City of Absecon:

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between Galloway Township-City of Absecon corporate line and Mill Road (approximate mileposts 50.55 to 51.18); thence

(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between Mill Road and Shore Road (approximate mileposts 51.18 to 52.04); thence

(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH between Shore Road and Reeds Ditch Bridge (# 159) (approximate mileposts 52.04 to 52.81); thence

(D) Zone 4: 50 MPH between Reeds Ditch Bridge (# 159) and the City of Absecon-City of Atlantic City corporate line (approximate mileposts 52.81 to 54.44); thence

vi. In the City of Atlantic City:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the City of Absecon-City of Atlantic City corporate line and Beach Thorofare Bridge (approximate mileposts 54.44 to 56.77); thence

(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between Beach Thorofare Bridge the New Jersey Department of Transportation – South Jersey Transportation Authority jurisdictional line (approximate mileposts 56.77 to 56.98).

NOTE: State Highway Route US 30 is under South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA) from approximate mileposts 56.98 to 58.26 (end of route).
