Traffic Regulations

(a)

The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway US 40/322 described in this subsection shall be hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:

1.

In Atlantic County:

i. In the Township of Hamilton:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Route US 322-Route US 40/ 322 junction and the Egg Harbor Township - Hamilton Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 51.77 to 53.15); thence

ii. In the Township of Egg Harbor:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Hamilton Township - Egg Harbor Township corporate line and Washington Avenue (County Route 608) (approximate mileposts 53.15 to 57.41); thence

(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between Washington Avenue (County Route 608) and Delancy Avenue (approximate mileposts 57.41 to 58.34); thence

(C) Zone 3: 40 MPH between Delancy Avenue and the westernmost Egg Harbor Township - City of Pleasantville corporate line (approximate mileposts 58.34 to 58.40); thence

(D) Zone 4: 40 MPH between the easternmost City of Pleasantville- Egg Harbor Township line and Athens Avenue (approximate mileposts 59.82 to 60.37); thence

(E) Zone 5: 45 MPH between Athens Avenue and Egg Harbor Township - City of Atlantic City line (Jonathan Thorofare) (approximate mileposts 60.37 to 61.63); thence

iii. In the City of Pleasantville:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the westernmost City of Pleasantville City - Egg Harbor Township corporate line and the easternmost City of Pleasantville - Egg Harbor Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 58.40 to 59.82); thence

iv. In the City of Atlantic City:

(1)

For both directions of traffic:

(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Egg Harbor Township – City of Atlantic City corporate line (Jonathan Thorofare) and West End Avenue (approximate mileposts 61.63 to 63.48); thence

(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between West End Avenue and the New Jersey Department of Transportation - Atlantic County jurisdictional line (approximate mileposts 63.48 to 64.05).

NOTE: State Highway Route US 40/ 322 is under county (Atlantic County) jurisdiction from approximate mileposts 64.05 to 64.32.
