CAPE MAY JAZZ FESTIVAL BRINGS MUSIC
TO VISITORS' EARS THIS SPRING

Festivities begin Friday, April 4th - Sunday, April 6, 2003

Cape May, N.J. (March 27, 2003)—Legendary jazz artists, top-name jazz performers, blues jams' trumpets and saxophones will fill the halls at the 10 year anniversary of the Cape May Jazz Festival in historic Cape May, New Jersey on Friday, April 4th to Sunday, April 6th. This year's festival will honor the legendary trumpet and flugelhorn player, Clark Terry (C.T.)

Kick Off - Friday, April 4, 2003

  • Convention Hall - C.T. and his Quintet will be joined by saxophonist James Moody and trumpeter Jon Faddis for two shows, 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
  • Six additional venues with headlining performers, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Jazz & Blues Jams - Saturday, April 5, 2003

  • Convention Hall - Three-time Grammy nominated and C.T protégée, Dianne Reeves with the Frank Foster Big Band, 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
  • Eight additional venues with headlining performers, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Boiler Room at Congress Hall - CD Signing Party with Wine Tasting by Delicato Family Vineyards, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. FREE
  • Star of the Sea Auditorium - Jazz workshops, no experience required - bring your own instruments, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. FREE
  • Afternoon Jazz Session, three venues, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Additional Jazz Events - Sunday, April 6, 2004
  • Afternoon Jazz Sessions, two venues, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m

"The Cape May Jazz Festival is a musical showcase that combines big name musicians, such as this year's guest of honor, Clark Terry, with local talent," said Nancy Byrne, executive director of the New Jersey Office of Travel and Tourism.
