Garden State's Finest Seafood Restaurants
Shell Out Fresh Food At
17th New Jersey Seafood Festival

Belmar, N.J. (May 21, 2003)—Savor some of New Jersey's best seafood from 36 of the state's finest seafood restaurants at the 17th New Jersey Seafood Festival taking place on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, 2003, in the fishing capital of the state, Belmar. The event is free to the public and will be located in Silver Lake Park at the oceanfront between 5th and 6th Avenues from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The weekend will also feature more than 60 fine artists and crafters from around the state, as well as a wine tasting tent sponsored by the Garden State Wine Growers Association. The festival will also feature blues performances by Sonny Kenn Band, Chic-a-Boom, The VooDUDES and many others.

Additional activities will include special guest appearances by Joe Rick, Guitar Bob and Jammin' With Dawn Alyn, contests, prizes, a children's tent, pony rides, a petting zoo, model boat demonstrations and environmental and educational displays.

"Whether you're visiting our state for the night or weekend, the New Jersey Seafood Festival is just one of many premiere shore events that draws thousands of people and showcases New Jersey's fresh seafood and lively shore entertainment," said Nancy Byrne, executive director for the New Jersey Office of Travel and Tourism.

The New Jersey Seafood Festival is a previous winner of the New Jersey Governor's Award for Best Tourism Event.
