| Getaways for Grown-Ups
to De-Stress
During the Holiday Season
Trenton, N.J. (December 15, 2003)—While
the holidays are often festive, family times to relax and reflect, they’re
often periods of extreme stress for adults who battle crowds at local malls,
frantically decorate and entertain and keep the little one’s in check
before Santa’s big night.
‘Tis the season when grown-ups need a quick respite
— an evening at a romantic and cheerfully decorated bed and breakfast,
a lavish dinner with entertainment or even some pampering at a spa —
to ease tension, renew enthusiasm and refocus on the true meaning of the
winter solstice holidays.
“A one-night getaway is the perfect remedy to
de-stress during the holidays,” says Nancy Byrne, executive director
of the New Jersey Office of Travel & Tourism. “ Combining a shopping
trip with a relaxing dinner and overnight stay is a great way to unwind
from hectic holiday preparations.”
New Jersey’s six regions offer some of the best
in rest and relaxation. Many of New Jersey’s romantic and historic
inns and bed and breakfasts are within walking distance of small and unusual
shops, purveying hand-crafts, fine art and antiques.
