Discovering New Jersey's Kaleidoscope of Colors
Driving Tours Now Available On-line at www.visitnj.org

Trenton (September 27, 2004)—Visitors looking to discover the Garden State's kaleidoscope of colors this autumn can access the state's tourism website at www.visitnj.org to view six driving tours that take travelers through some of New Jersey's beautiful scenery, including state parks, 19th century villages, rolling farmland and revolutionary war trails.

"These tours show the tremendous diversity of the Garden State," said Nancy Byrne, executive director of the New Jersey Office of Travel & Tourism. "From the state's northwest corner to its southernmost tip in Cape May, autumn in New Jersey is a breathtaking spectacular."

To determine the best time to view colors, click on the website's link to the Foliage Network, which details weekly foliage reports and leaf drops across the northeast.

Fall also is the perfect time to find out why New Jersey is called the Garden State. Visit some of the state's farms, roadside markets, pick your own and garden centers. The New Jersey Department of Agriculture's Jersey Fresh website, www.state.nj.us/jerseyfresh/ provides information on fruits and produce in season, harvest availability and also contains Jersey Fresh recipes to prepare meals from freshly harvested Garden State produce!

Of course, another great way to discover New Jersey this fall is to visit one of New Jersey's two-dozen wineries and explore the twelve wine trails developed by the Garden State Winegrower's Association. For information, access www.newjerseywines.com.

For more information on fall events and activities, contact the New Jersey Office of Travel & Tourism at 609-292-2470 or visit the website at www.visitnj.org.
