New Jersey’s Wine Trails Celebrate the Holidays

Trenton (November 8, 2004)—Celebrate and merrymake the festive season at the New Jersey Winegrowers Association's Holiday Wine Trail Weekend this November 26-28, 2004 from noon to 5:00 p.m.

“New Jersey is the fifth largest wine producing state in the country,” said Nancy Byrne, executive director of the NJ Office of Travel & Tourism. “With new wineries opening and with our fine cadre of existing wineries awarded Gold Medals at prestigious wine competitions this year, what better way to enjoy the holidays than by partaking in a Holiday Wine Trail Weekend.”

The weekend will offer visitors a chance to learn more about wine, wine tasting, and wine making as well as the opportunity to sample award-winning wines. Participating wineries include: Alba Vineyard, Village of Finesville; Amalthea Cellars, Atco; Amwell Valley Vineyard, Ringoes; Balic Winery, Mays Landing; Bellview Winery, Landisville; Cape May Winery, Cape May; Cream Ridge Winery, Cream Ridge; DiMatteo Winery, Hammonton; Four JG’s Winery, Colts Neck; Four Sisters Winery, Belvidere; Heritage Vineyards of Richwood, Richwood; Hopewell Valley Vineyards, Pennington; Kings Road Vineyard, Asbury; Renault Winery, Egg Harbor, Silver Decoy Winery, Robbinsville; Tomasello Winery, Hammonton ; Unionville Vineyards, Ringoes; Valenzano Winery, Shamong and Westfall Winery, Montague.

To help visitors explore New Jersey wineries, the Garden State Wine Growers Association has put together suggestions for 12 New Jersey Wine Trail day trips for each area of the state. The Trails, which include in-depth information on each winery on the Trail and detailed directions from one winery to the next, can be found on the Garden State Wine Growers Association website at www.newjerseywines.com.

The Wine Trails are open year round. However, for the Holiday Wine Trail Weekend on November 26th, 27th & 28th, the wineries will be offering many specials – including the wine and food pairings, wine cellar tours, wine education, as well as a New Jersey Wine Country Passport, which visitors can pick up at the wineries.
