Regatta
Set to Paddle Its Way Through Princeton
Trenton—The largest masters rowing
event of the year, the 33rd Annual FISA World Masters Rowing Regatta,
will navigate the waters of Mercer County Park’s Mercer Lake in West
Windsor on September 7 – 10, 2006.
“The World Masters Rowing Regatta is considered one
of the most prestigious in the world," said Commerce Secretary Virginia
Bauer. "We’re proud that New Jersey and Mercer County in particular
play host to this year’s regatta."
Situated on one of the finest rowing courses on the Eastern
Seaboard, the regatta is the World Championship for masters (athletes over
the age of twenty-seven) and will feature competitors well into their eighties
and nineties. The event is hosted by the Princeton National Rowing Association.

master rowers from over 45 countries," said Nancy Byrne, Executive

The 33rd Annual FISA World Masters Rowing Regatta is the
recipient of a New Jersey Tourism Cooperative Marketing Grant. The Cooperative
Marketing Grant Program is a valuable tool for tourism industry representatives
who show a commitment to increasing visitation and generating visitor revenues
throughout the Garden State.
