2006 FISA World Masters Rowing Regatta
Set to Paddle Its Way Through Princeton

Trenton—The largest masters rowing event of the year, the 33rd Annual FISA World Masters Rowing Regatta, will navigate the waters of Mercer County Park’s Mercer Lake in West Windsor on September 7 – 10, 2006.

“The World Masters Rowing Regatta is considered one of the most prestigious in the world," said Commerce Secretary Virginia Bauer. "We’re proud that New Jersey and Mercer County in particular play host to this year’s regatta."

Situated on one of the finest rowing courses on the Eastern Seaboard, the regatta is the World Championship for masters (athletes over the age of twenty-seven) and will feature competitors well into their eighties and nineties. The event is hosted by the Princeton National Rowing Association. For more information, visit www.fisamasters2006.com

“This is a great event that is sure to draw an enthusiastic and energetic crowd to help cheer on the more than 7,000 participating master rowers from over 45 countries," said Nancy Byrne, Executive Director of Travel & Tourism.

The 33rd Annual FISA World Masters Rowing Regatta is the recipient of a New Jersey Tourism Cooperative Marketing Grant. The Cooperative Marketing Grant Program is a valuable tool for tourism industry representatives who show a commitment to increasing visitation and generating visitor revenues throughout the Garden State.
