Because
DSS purchases in large volume and can use the substantial expertise
and significant bargaining power of New Jersey State Government, prices
are typically 30% lower than other alternatives.

DSS
offers a wide variety of products at discounted prices, including food
items, household products and office supplies. DSS carries dry, canned
and frozen food products. Household products include items such as
paper products, (toilet tissue, paper cups, paper towels) and janitorial
supplies (cleanser, soap, trash can liners). Office supplies include
computer supplies and stationery items.

DSS
handles all bidding and contract management requirements. Because we
do it often, we do it well.

A
Self-Service Store is located on the premises at 1620 Stuyvesant Avenue
in Ewing Township. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m.
to 4 p.m. The store offers a way to purchase office supplies and stationery
in smaller quantities. Once an account is open, you may shop for office
supplies and take them with you.

Distribution
and Support Services provides delivery at no charge. A minimum order
of $130 is required.

QUALITY
ASSURANCE |

The
Quality Assurance Laboratory (QAL) continually updates and improves
existing product specifications to meet customers’ needs for
quality goods that meet the highest standards.

The
QAL monitors product safety and certifies that products received at
DSS are in compliance with contract specifications.
|
 |
In
addition to products carried by DSS, the QAL provides testing for goods
purchased by other government entities to certify compliance with contract
specifications.

| SURPLUS
PROPERTY |

The
Surplus Property Unit manages the State's surplus personal property
generating revenue for the State through public sales or auctions of
surplus goods. DSS advertises public auctions and sealed bid information

COMPUTER DONATION PROGRAM |

As
part of its mission to manage the State's surplus personal property
assets, DSS is statutorily charged with overseeing the State's surplus
computer donation program. This program provides for the donation of
surplus computer equipment to non-profit and charitable organizations
