Third Annual State Economic Forum

Dr. Charles Steindel, Chief Economist at the New Jersey Department of Treasury, discusses the state’s economic outlook at the Third Annual Garden Sate Economic Forum.

Leaders in the fields of economics, government, business and academia gathered at Thomas Edison State College in Trenton on Nov. 20 for the third annual Garden State Economic Forum. The main discussion topic for this year’s event was New Jersey’s Next 4 Years. Over sixty people attended and heard presentations and panel discussions on topics including how New Jersey can improve its business climate and grow its economy, the status of the state’s recovery from Superstorm Sandy, and ideas on policy initiatives to improve the state’s infrastructure and human capital.

“The presentations and discussions at the conference dealt with many issues of vital importance to all of us in the state,” Treasury Department Chief Economist Dr. Charles Steindel, who served as master of ceremonies at the event, said. “We hope that bringing all these views and information was helpful to all those who need to know where the state stands, where it is going, and what might be done to make it even better.”

Speakers and panelists at the event included New Jersey State Treasurer Andrew Sidamon-Eristoff, Chairman of the State Investment Council Robert Grady, and Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Recovery and Rebuilding Marc-Phillip Ferzan, among others.
