Technically, members of the Legislative
Retirement System (LRS) are a subcategory of the Public Employees'
Retirement System (PERS). Because the conditions that affect
LRS employmentnamely periodic elections, are unique to enrolled
members ofthe State legislature, there are special provisions
for retirement that need to be outlined separately.
For additional information about
the pension and benefits associated with a Public Employees' Retirement
System (PERS) membership, please consult the PERS
Member Handbook. In addition, the PERS
Legislative Retirement System Addendum provides
information about membership and benefits specific for PERS LRS
members.
