Retirement Processing

Introduction

This page offers links to sections that provide quick overviews of the retirement process for each pension fund.

Shortcuts to specific retirement forms appear at the bottom of this page.

Special attention is paid to the different types of retirement under each system, eligibility requirements, benefit calculation formulas, and the documents that are needed to successfully apply for retirement benefits.

While discussion is necessarily kept to a minimum in this section of the EPBAM, you can easily access additional information through the member handbooks pertaining to each retirement system.  Links to the member handbooks are also provided below.

Within each section, links are provided to the specific documents required for each type of retirement.

In addition, if you follow a link to "Instructions" for a selected document, an active picture (an "image map") of the document appears in your browser window. Line-by-line instructions can be accessed by clicking on any part of the form you need help with.  To return from the "Instructions" page to the document, just hit your browser's "Back" button.  Hit the "Back" button again to return to the "Retirements" page.

There is sometimes a need for retirees to waive all or a portion of their retirement allowance for specific purposes. Instructions are available here.
