DISABILITY RETIREMENT

Ordinary Disability and Accidental Disability Retirement is available to certain PERS or TPAF members* who are totally and permanently disabled from performing their normal or any assigned job duties.

The eligibility requirements and benefits for disability retirement are significantly different from other types of retirement.

*Disability Retirement is available to members enrolled on or before May 21, 2010 (Membership Tiers 1, 2, and 3).  Members enrolled after May 21, 2010 (Membership Tiers 4 and 5) may be eligible for disability insurance coverage.
