EMPLOYMENT AFTER RETIREMENT

People are living longer, healthier lives and many want, or need, to work and earn money after retirement.

Working for private industry, the federal government, or a government agency in another state will not normally affect your PERS or TPAF retirement benefits.

However, returning to public employment in New Jersey after retirement may jeopardize your retirement benefits. Retirees should exercise caution before accepting any public employments after retirement.
