The Board of Trustees of the TPAF recently adopted N.J.A.C. 17:3-1.4, which sets forth the procedure for the election of a member-trustee.

The current election is to fill a trustee position from Group C, for a three-year term commencing on January 1, 2014.  Group C consists of Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Ocean, and Salem.

Since only one candidate, Martha Liebman, from Mercer County, registered for the position, the Board of Trustees of the TPAF is pleased to announce that in accordance with N.J.A.C. 17:3-1.4, Martha Liebman, from Mercer County is elected to represent Group C, for a three-year term commencing on January 1, 2014. Trustee Liebman has served as a trustee since January 1, 2008 and continues to be an asset to the TPAF Board. The TPAF Annual Convention will not occur during the month of October 2013.  However, there will be a presentation by the Division of Pensions and Benefits and it is anticipated there will be a representative by the Division of Investment, at the public information session scheduled on November 7, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at the New Jersey Education Association Convention, at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

We would like to thank those delegates and alternates who registered this year with their respective county. These names will remain active through May 31, 2014, should the need arise in the future to conduct a vote for a trustee position. The eligibility criteria to become a delegate/alternate remains unchanged (eligibility is based on where you worked, not your place of residence.)

Please remember to register with your respective county next year for the election of a member-trustee as the selection of delegates and alternates continues to be an important part of the process.

We encourage you to periodically visit the Division of Pensions and Benefits Web site, through the Board Election Information link, for information regarding future elections.

Applicable Statute and Regulation: NJSA 18A:66-56 and NJAC 17:3-1.4.
