Fed/State Electronic Filing Program Overview
REGISTERING FOR NEW JERSEY'S ELECTRONIC FILING PROGRAM
Initial Registration With New Jersey
Everyone who wishes to participate in New Jersey's E-File Program may do so. Out-of-State EROs must complete an E-File registration form. You may download this form, complete it, and mail or fax it to: New Jersey Division of Revenue, PO Box 191 E-File, Trenton, NJ 08646-0191. FAX (609) 292-1777.
Update Registration With New Jersey
If you have already registered with us and would like to update any information we have on file for your business, you can submit a new E-File registration form to the Division. This will revise the records for the coming tax season. If you need this form faxed, please call (609) 633-1132.
New Comers To The Fed/State Program
If you have never participated in the Fed/State Electronic Filing Program, you will need to contact the IRS to apply for an identification number. You can write to them at:IRS/Newark, PO Box 668, Newark, NJ 07101-9788, Attn: Electronic Filing Coordinator.
For the 2006 tax period, New Jersey will be participating in the IRS's Electronic Management System (EMS). New Jersey acknowledges all electronic transmissions. The acknowlegements will be sent to and picked up through the EMS.

The following dates relate to the coming tax season.
There is no 'last date' for Out-of-State ERO's to register with New Jersey. However, you will need an EFIN number to participate and complete a New Jersey E-File registration form prior to transmitting returns.
