The New Jersey Turnpike Authority Widening Projects

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority began construction on two important congestion-relief projects in 2009.

The Turnpike is being widened from three lanes in each direction to six between Interchange 6 in Mansfield Township, Burlington County, and Interchange 8A in Monroe Township, Middlesex County, and from five lanes to six in each direction between Interchange 8A and Interchange 9 in East Brunswick, Middlesex County. The Parkway is being widened from two lanes in each direction to three between Milepost 30 in Somers Point, Cape May County, and Milepost 80 in Toms River, Ocean County. Construction began in 2009 on the first phase of the project, from Milepost 63 in Stafford Township, Ocean County, to Milepost 80. CLICK HERE for more information.
