NEW JERSEY NATIONAL GUARD

The New Jersey Army National Guard (NJARNG) mission is twofold. On a federal level, the NJARNG provides well trained and equipped units that are available for use in the event of emergency or war. On the state level, the NJARNG provides emergency relief in the event of natural disaster and maintains peace and order during civil disturbance. The NJARNG has facilities in 20 New Jersey counties and can provide immediate relief in the event of disaster or emergency . New Jersey soldiers also participate in world-wide training. The NJARNG also participates in counter drug operations, demilitarization of obsolete military vehicles, REEFEX, and the ChalleNGe Youth Program. To find out more, call NJARNG Recruiting at 1-800-792-8396.

The New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) is comprised of the 108th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) and the 177th Fighter wing (FW). Both units strive to provide mission ready units, equipment, and personnel to the Adjutant General and the United States Air Force.

The 108th ARW, located at McGuire Air Force Base, is home to over 1,600 military and federal employees. The 108th ARW’s primary mission is to provide world-wide refueling, airlift, logistics, mission support, and medical services to the nation and state. The 108th ARW uses the KC-135E to perform missions abroad.

The 177th FW, based in Atlantic City, New Jersey, is home to more than 1,000 military and full time federal and state employees. The 177th FW’s primary mission is to protect the air sovereignty of the United States--ensuring that the U.S. is protected from such threats as unknown aircraft, terrorists, and air launched missiles. To do this, the 177th "Jersey Devils" employ the F-16 Fighting Falcon, one of the most sophisticated aircraft in the world. For more information call NJARNG Recruiting at 1-800-331-1860.
