Public Comment Period Open for Hurricane Ida Action Plan Amendment #2

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is soliciting public comments on the State’s proposal to modify program eligible activities included in the State’s Hurricane Ida Recovery Action Plan.

The public comment period for Hurricane Ida Action Plan Substantial Amendment #2 is from 9 a.m. EST on April 24, 2023 to 5 p.m. EST on May 25, 2023.

The proposed modifications include:

  • Changing who qualifies for safe housing incentives in the Blue Acres Program;
  • Removing reconstruction as an eligible activity in the Small Rental Repair Program;
  • Removing comprehensive planning as an eligible activity in the Resilient Communities Program; and
  • Removing municipalities as stand-alone eligible applicants to the Resilient New Jersey program and adding counties and regional consulting teams.

Commenters are able to submit comments to this proposed amendment (i) via email to DisasterRecoveryandMitigation@dca.nj.gov (Subject: Ida APA 2); or (ii) via U.S. mail to the attention of Lisa Ryan, Division of Disaster Recovery and Mitigation, NJ Department of Community Affairs, 101 South Broad Street, P.O. Box 823, Trenton, NJ 08625-0823.

All comments must be received on or before the deadline to be considered.
