Bureau of Rooming and Boarding House Standards

The Bureau of Rooming and Boarding House Standards is responsible for the implementation and enforcement of the Rooming and Boarding House Act of 1979, the inspection and licensure of emergency shelters for the homeless pursuant to Rules Governing Shelters for the Homeless, and the provisions of the Standards for Licensure of Residential Health Care Facilities.

Bureau of State and Local Code Inspections

The Bureau of State and Local Code Inspections issues permits and performs inspections on State buildings, elevators and carnival-amusement rides. In addition, the Bureau provides mandated State Uniform Construction Code enforcement in municipalities that have requested that the DCA assume authority of the Uniform Construction Code in those towns.
