Rental Assistance Program (RAP)
What is the Rental Assistance Program?
The Rental Assistance Program (RAP) provides short-term rental assistance in the form of a grant to homeowners participating in the Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, Elevation and Mitigation (RREM) or the Low-to-Moderate Income Homeowners Rebuilding (LMI) Program. Rental Assistance Program funds are only available to assist with rent going forward and may not be used as a reimbursement for previously paid or incurred rent.
Rebuilding, repairing or elevating a home puts a significant strain on families who are already shouldering a great financial burden. If paying a rental payment during this process creates a hardship, this program may be able to help you.
All payments are based on the availability of the funding.
IMPORTANT:The Rental Assistance Program (RAP) is no longer accepting new applications. If you are a current participant looking to recertify, please click below. For all other questions please call 609-278-8261 or email SSBGRental@njhmfa.gov. |
