Understanding & Incorporating Tax Credits in your Project Funding Strategy ( LIHTC, NMTC, HTC)

Tax credits have been a valuable financing tool in advancing affordable housing, preservation, and community development. However, most developers are ill-informed and unprepared to access the 9% LIHTC, 4% Percent LIHTC/Bond, NMTCs, HTCs, and other tax credit incentive programs. This webinar will introduce these programs and how best to assess its suitability within a development project. The two-hour tax credit course has been constructed to provide practical details about how to best prepare for the various tax credits programs – Low Income Housing Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits, Historic Preservation Tax Credits, and other tax credit programs for real estate rehabilitation and development. The industry experts will also use hypothetical case studies illustrating how the specific tax credit programs can be used to stimulate private investment. Register at https://cvent.me/Zqawwa

“The NJRA understands the importance of education and the need for affordable redevelopment and real estate education for New Jersey communities,” said NJRA President & CEO Leslie A. Anderson. “Recognizing that many communities are still recovering from the pandemic, all course offerings have been lowered to $10. We hope as many people as possible take advantage of the expertise of the redevelopment professionals we’ve engaged with for these workshops.”

NJRA created the Training Institute (TI) in 2006 and it offers a multitude of intensive workshops in the areas of project finance, tax abatements, redevelopment planning law, tax credits, CDBG and Home Funds, and more. Since its creation, TI has trained over 2,000 attorneys, planners, elected officials, developers, and nonprofits from nine states across the country. In 2016, TI celebrated its tenth anniversary.

NJRA is a comprehensive resource center that focuses on improving the quality of life by creating value in New Jersey's urban communities. The Authority invests financial and technical resources into redevelopment projects and plans that will create a positive impact in eligible communities and ensures projects are urban-focused, neighborhood-based, and investment-driven.
